Ismay Griffith, is the current President for Smart Fit Fam, Inc., a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Professional Coach and an ordained Minister. She started her social work career and education in Guyana, working with Children and Families. Ms. Griffith has worked in the NYC child welfare system at both the NYC Administration for Children’s Services as well and in the non-profit sector. She worked at the University of Guyana, Oklahoma State University and currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Empire State College. Ms. Griffith earned a Master of Science Degree in the field of Sociology and pursued post graduate studies in Family Relations and Child Development at Oklahoma State University. She co-founded the Caribbean-American Social Workers Association, an organization that continues to educate and foster growth in the community. She served as its President for the first five years and continues her mentorship with current members. Her leadership role in many community forums is remarkable. Ms. Griffith is the proud grandmother to Zachary, who is on the autism spectrum. This influenced her increased passion as an advocate for families with children on the autism spectrum. She is ecstatic of the accomplishments of her children, Dr. Alisha Griffith and Dr. Ekwensi Griffith who have been successful in their respective careers and supportive in giving back to the community. Service to God, her love for her children, her four amazing grandchildren and her fellow man is her priority in life.
